Size and weight: 

POSTCARDS:
To qualify must be rectangle
Height = Minimum - 3 ½”,  Maximum - 4 ½”
Length = Minimum - 5 ½”,  Maximum - 6”
Thickness = Minimum -  0.007”, Maximum  - 0.016”

ENVELOPES:
Height: Minimum - 3 ½”,  Maximum - 6 1/8”
Length: Minimum - 5”, Maximum - 11 ½”
Thickness: Minimum - 0.007”, Maximum - ¼”

LARGE ENVELOPES:
Height: Maximum - 12”
Length: Maximum – 15”
Thickness: Maximum – ¾”

PACKAGES:
Weight: Not over 70 lbs.
Girth: Measurement around the thickest part of the package.  The maximum combined length and girth is 108 inches.  If larger it will need to be shipped with the USPS retail ground service, UPS ground, FedEX ground or other Courier.

LARGE MAILINGS: 
First Class Pre-Sort: Minimum is 500 pieces
Third Class Bulk Rate: Minimum is 200 pieces

Mailing Tips

  • Write all addresses legibly
  • Capitalize addresses
  • Type or machine print address (recommended)
  • When using window envelopes, make sure complete address is visible.  Contents can shift, so check before sealing.
  • Separate international mail from domestic mail
  • International mail must include country and code
  • All International packages require a customs form (available at CSUB mailroom)

 Intercampus mail

  • Intercampus mail must be addressed as follows:

Full Name
Mailstop code/Department
Mail services does not deliver to room numbers
Cross out all other addresses. Only one “TO” showing
